Monday 11/30/09

Today’s class was very simple, but very helpful. It was about presentation and storytelling. I was extremely nervous when I heard the word "presentation" because i'm terrified of presenting in front of class. The exercise was to present two truths and one lie about yourself, which was fun. I came up to the class, (almost fainting!) and presented my two truths and one lie. Before I went up I wanted to be creative and fool the class with my truths and lies, but the first things that gave me away was my eye contact. It taught me how to lie better and be aware of my body language. Jimmy gave us advice on when we present our work in the future, we have to be honest, but if we’re not we have to be convincing. Afterwards, the whole class had to tell a story about the past week, which was harder than I thought; overall, it was helpful and fun!

  1. I think it does help up a lot. We have to start with a small audience so we will be prepared to present our work to a larger audience in a professional environment. I think everyone was nervous, even though they acted natural and comfortable in front of class.

  2. I think I have the same reaction as you when I heard the word presentation because when I was standing in front of the class, my mind was blank.
My aunt has taught me how to get rid of the stage fight. It is to imagined the situation when you give a speech in front of audiences.
